Help enrich your child's education by Volunteering
at Kent.  To become a Volunteer, follow these steps:
 

 
Step 1:
Register with the school district to become a volunteer.  This includes setting up a volunteer profile and getting a background check, both of which are done online at www.cfbisd.edu/volunteer
(CFBISD requirement for the safety of all the children)
Step 2:
Fill out this form and mark the box next to the areas where you would be interested in volunteering.  Click "Submit" at bottom.

Once you start volunteering, be sure to record your hours!


Sign up to be a Kent Volunteer by entering your name, email, and phone number and then check
the box of all the the items you are interested in volunteering for.

Note:  You must create a volunteer profile and submit the background check (online at www.cfbisd.edu/volunteer) prior to submitting this Volunteer Form.  This is a CFBISD District Requirement for the safety of all the children.

20th Anniversary Celebration May 18, as well as various during the year Open House and activities to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Kent Elementary. Details are in the works!
Art Show May Help art teacher organize, label, and hang student artwork. And/or serve cookies & punch in the Art room.
Back-to-School (NEXT YEAR) August 2010 Help needed during the week prior to the start of school to put together “First Day” information packets; help with School Supply and Spirit Wear sales & distribution; etc.
Book Fair October & May Help organize books, assist students, and process orders. 
Clinic Volunteers As needed Help school nurse with Vision and Hearing Screenings.  Prefer RN, medical training, CPR/First Aid Certified.
Clothes Closet As needed Help organize donated clothing at CFBISD Council PTA Clothes Closet at Standridge Stadium.
Cultural Arts - Reflections October/November Help organize art entries and prepare for the awards program.
Fall Fundraiser September Help collect, fill and distribute orders for Fall Fundraiser.
Field Day /
Water Day
May Help run various relay-type activities on the playground.
Food Drive To be determined Help publicize and gather donated food for the Metrocrest Food Bank.
Helping Hands / Material Preparation Tuesday mornings (starting at 8am) Laminate, die cut, bind and staple instructional materials in Volunteer Room.
Kent PTA Membership Ongoing throughout the year Be a greeter at Kent PTA regular meetings. Update the “Membership Wall” in the cafeteria.
Kindergarten Crosswalk Safety Patrol Monday-Friday
(3:00-3:15)
Help teachers to get the Kindergarten students to their vehicles (Kindergarten parents only please.)
Library Weekly Shelve, check-in, and re-cover books, etc.
Literacy Library Weekly Shelve and label books, and enter data into the computer, etc.
Office Help As needed Answer phones in the office; help with school pictures, monitor hallways during TAKS, etc.
Marquee Usually Fridays Update information on the marquee in front of the school.
Multicultural Family Fun Festival March - May Help organize families to set up booths about their culture heritage.
Photography Ongoing Take digital pictures at events you attend for Grade Level Scrapbooks, Yearbook, Newsletter, Historian, etc.

Red Ribbon Week October Decorate school (hang posters, banners, pledges, etc); help with Family Fun Night, etc.
Silent Auction October Help solicit items for baskets; organize, label, & set up donations; assist during Silent Auction; distribute items to winners; and help with clean up.
Sock & Underwear Drive October Help publicize and gather donated clothing for Clothes Closet.  ** New clothing only**

Turkey Trot November Guide and cheer for students as they compete in a short holiday race.
Used Book Sale January – February Help sort books for the CFBISD Council PTA Gently Used Book Sale. Or assist during the sale and/or post-sale.
Year Book Ongoing and as needed Take pictures at events.  Help with Yearbook sales & distribution.
